Genesee Land Trust Recipient of $100,000 Anonymous Gift
A member of the Genesee Land Trust Board of Directors, who wishes to remain anonymous, has made a personal pledge of $100,000 to support the work of this non-profit land preservation organization. The pledge includes a challenge to others to make a similar commitment to preserve and protect open spaces, clean water, and natural habitats.
The gift was announced at a Board of Directors meeting held on Monday May 16th with a challenge and invitation to the regional philanthropic community to join in investing in the mission of Genesee Land Trust.
The organization was founded in 1989 and has protected many natural lands much loved by the Rochester community and beyond. Places like Corbett’s Glen, the Christine Sevilla Wetlands Preserve and parts of Braddock Bay, will be preserved forever because of the stewardship work of the Trust. Genesee Land Trust is grateful to have received this generous gift and the promise it holds for future generations to enjoy the more than 4000 acres currently under its protection.
