Backyard Habitat Tour Takes Place Saturday June 20th from 9 to 4 pm
Genesee Land Trust’s most popular fundraiser, The Backyard Habitat Tour will present gardens in Brighton, Henrietta, Pittsford and Fairport on Saturday, June 20th from 9 to 4pm. This self-guided, self-paced tour demonstrates how to protect and attract wildlife to your garden. Three gardens are located in Brighton, one just a stone’s throw from Corbett’s Glen. In Henrietta, next door neighbors who have gardened together for 30 years will show the fruits of their labors. The tour includes a Pittsford property with multiple water features, a grass-less paradise close to the Fairport vineyards. Returning to the tour by popular demand is Sara Rubin, of Brighton, with a great love of frogs and toads, has created a mini wetland in her backyard. The Backyard Habitat Tour still has the best ticket price around with member tickets (purchased through Genesee Land Trust) at $12 and non-member at $15. All tickets can be purchased by calling Genesee Land Trust at 256-2130 and non member tickets are available at all Wegmans at “That’s the Ticket”. Proceeds from this event support the land conservation efforts of Genesee Land Trust. For more information, please call 256-2130 and visit www.geneseelandtrust.org
The Genesee Land Trust currently protects over 3200 acres of woods, wetlands, farmland and special places in Greater Rochester. It was founded in 1989.
