Crowfields Conservation Easement

 (c) Nigel Kent

Size:

105 acres

Location:

Town of Arcadia, Wayne County

Description:

Agricultural fields, pond, wetlands, woodland

History:

In 2004, Genesee Land Trust helped Wayne County resident, Rebecca Kraai protect 105 acres of scenic farm fields and mature woods on a drumlin in Arcadia.  Kraai and her husband, Doug, had raised organic hay and other crops on this land to feed their herd of American Bison until Doug's death in 2002.

The current owners of the property, Steve and Mary Aman, have established Sanctuary at Crowfield Farm, a not-for-profit education center offering workshops, retreats and activities that honor and nurture self, community and the earth. Public Access:

Although Genesee Land Trust occasionally invites members on outings to a conservation easement property with the owner’s consent, conservation easement properties remain private property and therefore no public access is permitted.
