Canandaigua
National Bank & Trust Gifts Genesee Land Trust
The
Genesee Land Trust, a land preservation organization, protecting
over 2500 acres in the greater Rochester
area, is pleased to announce
that it is the recipient of a $1000 gift from the Canandaigua National
Bank & Trust. This donation will be used to support the conservation
efforts of the Trust.
“We
are actively increasing our areas of protection,” says Trust Executive
Director, Gay Mills, “therefore the continued support from Canandaigua
National Bank is both needed and greatly appreciated.” As Rochester’s
local land trust, the 18 year old organization boasts of increasing
protection of Braddock Bay and Salmon Creek, as well 146 acres along
Ganargua Creek in the town of Arcadia that includes an 18 acre organic
farm, and an easement owned by the Town of Webster, protecting 68
acres of old growth forest in that town in the last year. Additionally,
Genesee Land Trust is working in partnership with the city of Rochester
and neighborhood associations
at the establishing El Camino Butterhole-Seneca Park Trail: a walking,
biking, greenway through the heart of the city of Rochester
.
Steve
Martin, VP, Public Relations and Marketing at Canandaigua National
Bank, says, “CNB is delighted to support the good work of the Genesee
Land Trust in helping to preserve our natural environment throughout
the region.” Canandaigua National Bank is a leader in supporting
community based organizations and activities.
Founded
in 1887, Canandaigua National Bank is the region’s only local, community-
owned, full service bank, with 21 branches in Ontario
and Monroe
County
