Genesee Land Trust Ribbon Cutting at Conkey Corner Park - Mayor Duffy To Attend

Genesee Land Trust, a local non-profit land preservation organization, is announcing a ribbon cutting of the new Conkey Corner Park (at Conkey and Clifford Avenues) to take place at the park on Thursday, June 25 at 1 pm.  The Honorable, Robert J. Duffy will be one of those officiating. The City of Rochester was key in this project and in the development of El Camino (a walking trail) which extends from the park.  In addition to the mayor, members of the Environmental Services Dept of the City, working in direct partnership with Genesee Land Trust, are scheduled to attend. Eastman Kodak, a primary partner, is also invited to be a part of the festivities. The park’s garden or Children's Garden, was installed by Broccolo Tree & Lawn Care, a contracted company, and with the help of school children in the neighborhood.  School officials, teachers, parents and students, have worked closely with Genesee Land Trust on this ambitious event and are invited to cut the ribbon. 

Conkey Corner Park will soon have a playground thanks to grant funding from the Greater Rochester Health Foundation and the Rochester Area Community Foundation and the work of Genesee Land Trust.  Representatives of those grantors have been invited to attend.
