Recent 2011 Work Parties

Ganargua Creek Meadow Preserve, Macedon: Saturday, April 23th, 9:00 AM to Noon  

Children, accompanied by a parent, were invited to help remove sticks and stones from mown path and also cast wildflower seeds in the meadow.

Adults’ work included clearing fallen sticks from annually mown path and clearing excess foliage from existing trails connecting to the Preserve. Work content will range from light to moderate.  Tools required:  work gloves, wheelbarrows, saws, loppers and clippers. Driving Directions: From Rte 31 in Macedon, turn south onto Route 306 (Wayneport Road). Turn east onto Wilkinson Road. Trails connecting to Ganargua Creek Meadow, Macedon: Saturday, March 26th, 9:00 AM to Noon

This work day will be conducted jointly with the Macedon Trails Committee to create a new trail on the Wayne ARC Property, connecting to trails on GLT’s Ganargua Creek Meadow. Work will include clearing excess foliage trail. Work content will range from moderate to heavy.  Tools required:  work gloves, wheelbarrows, saws, loppers and clippers. Driving Directions: From Rte 31 in Macedon, turn south onto Route 306 (Wayneport Road). Turn east onto Wilkinson Road. Continue to the end of the road and park near the bridge at the intersection with Victor Road.

Brookdale Preserve, Chili: Saturday, April 2th, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM  

 Work will include trail clearing, brush trimming, mulching and sign posting. Tools needed: long pants, work gloves, boots (we may be working in shallow, standing water at times), hammers, saws, shovels/pitchforks, loppers and hand clippers. If you are able to bring a wheel barrow that would be helpful as well for the mulching.
