Global Youth Service Day on April 23rd Will Clean Up Conkey Corner Park and El Camino Trail from 1 to 3 PM
About 50 teenagers from all around the greater Rochester area, members of the Rochester-Monroe County Youth Bureau’s YOUTH AS RESOURCES along with City of Rochester Department of Recreation and Youth Services program, YOUTH VOICE, ONE VISION, will be cleaning up Conkey Corner Park (Corner of Conkey and Clifford Avenues, 14621) and El Camino Trail, on Friday, April 23rd between the hours of 1 and 3 PM. Conkey Corner Park and El Camino Trail are projects of the local non-profit, Genesee Land Trust and have been spearheaded by board member, Tom Frey. Members of Genesee Land Trust will also be on hand that day!
Youth As Resources (YAR) has joined forces with Youth Voice, One Vision (YVOV) to coordinate the project for GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY which is called BUILDING ROCHESTER-MONROE COUNTY FROM THE GROUND UP.
During the event, youth will be cleaning up debris at the park and at El Camino Trail, which is protected by the City of Rochester and Genesee Land Trust.
In addition to this cleanup, the youth will be cleaning and prepping gardens at recreation and community centers, libraries and schools throughout the county.

Youth As Resources is a Youth Philanthropy Board that offers mini-grants of up to $1000 for youth led community
service projects throughout Monroe County. “Youth Voice, One Vision” is a youth council run by the City of
Rochester’s Bureau of Recreation and currently has more than 75 active youth members. These two groups often
partner to facilitate youth led service and service learning projects that contribute to a safe and vibrant community.
Both groups are youth led and have been in existence for more than 15 years.
