May Day Saturday, May 6, 2017 -- 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Peacework Farm
Join Peacework Farm for the annual May Day celebration! The fun will begin at 2:00 pm with the annual dance around the Maypole, followed by a wildflower walk through Kraai Preserve, tours of Peacework Farm and Johnson Brothers Food Forest, and finally a potluck supper. If staying for supper, please bring a dish to pass.

Coming from Rochester: From Route 31 in Newark, turn north onto Route 88, go 3.5 miles and turn right onto Pulver Road for 1.5 miles. Turn right at Arcadia Zurich Norris Road, cross the creek, and turn right into second driveway. Approximately one hour from Rochester.

Amy's Ponds & Woodsmith- Rochester Birding Association Sunday, May 14, 2017 -- 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Join Rochester Birding Association on a field trip to the private property of Janet Smith for spring migrants, early nesters, and waterfowl. Two adjacent conservation easements make up 187 acres that include two large ponds, mature woodland, and open fields all within 0.5 mi. of Lake Ontario. This permanently protected conservation land is only open to the public during this event.
Directions:
From Rochester, take Route 104 east through Webster to County Line Road. Drive north until it ends at Lake Road. Turn right and travel approximately one mile to 484 Lake Road, Ontario, N.Y. and turn down the long gravel driveway (on the south side of Lake Road) until you reach the marked parking area.
Manitou Beach Preserve- Rochester Birding Association Saturday, May 20, 2017 -- 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Join Rochester Birding Association on a trip to Manitou Beach Preserve to see warblers, flycatchers, and other spring arrivals. Manitou Beach Preserve consists of 5 acres of field and hedgerow, shrub and cattail wetlands extending into Braddock Bay.  Wear waterproof, sturdy shoes and don’t forget the bug spray! Meet in the Owl Woods Parking Lot on Manitou Beach Road (Rte. 261) at the Lake Ontario State Parkway at 8:00 a.m. We will shuttle to the preserve as parking space is limited.

Join naturalist Bob Cooper and explore the woods and wetlands of Alasa Farms, a 627 acre conservation easement property on Sodus Bay. Learn more about Alasa Farms and Cracker Box Palace, the owners of this beautiful place here.

From Rochester, follow Route 104 East, just past the town of Alton. Turn left (north) on Route 14. Turn right at the T-intersection onto Ridge Road and take an immediate left onto Shaker Road. Cracker Box Palace at Alasa Farms is on the right, just before the intersection with Shaker Tract Road (Red Mill Road). Approximate address: 6450 Shaker Road, Town of Sodus, NY.

Braddock Bay Bird Observatory (BBBO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ornithological research, education and conservation. Join BBBO and Genesee Land Trust for a family friendly evening to learn all about birds! Learn how birds are captured, banded, and released. Oh and did we mention there will be ice cream?

From Lake Ontario State Parkway, follow Manitou Beach Road (Route 261) north, then turn left onto Braddocks Avenue. Look for the "Braddock Bay Bird Observatory" sign at the end of Braddocks Avenue (prior to it turning into 3rd Street).
Butterflies and Summer Flowers Saturday, July 29, 2017 -- 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Ganargua Creek Meadow Preserve
Join Carol and David Southby of Rochester Butterfly Club to enjoy this butterfly hotspot and lovely wildflower meadow. Bring a water bottle, binoculars, and optional picnic lunch. Long pants and suitable footwear recommended, as there is poison ivy on the trails. More details about Ganargua Creek Meadow Preserve here.
Directions:
We will meet at the creek-side entrance to the Preserve; from Rte 31 in Macedon, turn south on Rte 306 (Wayneport Road). Turn east onto Wilkinson Road. Continue east along Wilkinson Road to the parking area on the the right, just before the T intersection with Victor Road in Wayne County.
Summer Habitat Walk Thursday, August 10, 2017 -- 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Rush

Discover butterflies, birds, flowers, and learn a little geology on this 2 mile walk through a 115 acre preserve containing a wetland and fields. Wear long pants, a hat, and sturdy shoes. Bring water and bug spray in case the deer tick are active.

Directions:
We will meet at 677 Five Points Road, in Rush. We will carpool to the site.
