Brookdale Preserve

Location:

Town of Chili, Monroe County

Description:

Wooded wetlands, open meadows, and hardwood uplands. Numerous birds, exceptional variety of frogs.

History:

Donated to GLT in 1998 by RG&E as part of an environmental benefits package to resolve an enforcement action by the NYS DEC.

Public Access: Trail under construction. Driving Directions: Brookdale Preserve is north of Brook Road, bordered on one side by the Genesee Valley Greenway Trail. From the intersection of Rte 252 (Jefferson Road) and Rte 383 (Scottsville Road) in Chili, go south on 383, turn west on Brook Road. Parking is available in the New York State Department of Parks parking lot on the right.
Rules:

All properties are managed strictly for nature preservation. Welcome uses include nature study, photography, and walking. To avoid damaging vegetation, please stay on trail where possible.

  • This is the only GLT Preserve that permits bow hunting (in season)
  • No horses, motorized vehicles, snowmobiles, or bicycles permitted
  • All dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after
  • No removal of any vegetation or dead wood
  • No camping or fires
  • No trail cutting or marking of trees
  • Please respect neighboring properties
