-For Immediate Release- Genesee Land Trust Elects Jean H. McCrearyGenesee Land Trust announces
its recent election of Jean H. McCreary, Esq. of Nixon Peabody,
to its board of directors for 2006. McCreary is a Certified Professional
Environmental Auditor for Nixon Peabody, LLP handling environmental
aspects of corporate mergers, acquisitions, real estate, gifts to
educational institutions and charitable organizations. She has coordinated
and conducted environmental management, compliance and pre-acquisition
audits in about 40 states in the United States and 20 countries
internationally and has served as President (1995–1996) of
The Auditing Roundtable. A Charter Member of the Board of Environmental
Auditor Certifications, McCreary has chaired the Work Group that
developed the U.S. position on General Auditing Principles to the
International Standardization Organization (“ISO”) on
the ISO 14000 environmental management system standards. McCreary
served as the U.S. expert on this subject at the TC?207 meeting
in Oslo, Norway (1995). The American National Standards Institute
and the Registrar Accreditation Board appointed her as representative
of “auditor interests” to the Environmental Management
Systems Council of the National Accreditation Program for ISO 14000
(1996-1998). McCreary led the team that developed a first-of-its-kind
ISO-14000-based environmental management system (EMS) for a large
international energy infrastructure development project. This project
involved the construction of a natural gas pipeline spanning two
countries, diverse terrain and required a multi-lingual approach.
