Newsletter Cover Photo Contest  

Spring/Summer at Lake Ontario 

Submissions Due by March 25, 2025 

Genessee Land Trust is holding a cover photo contest to find great Spring/Summer images of our beautiful Lake Ontario.  

Please share your favorite photos (there is no limit on # of submissions) with us via the form below – or via social media - for a chance to be the cover of our spring/summer 2025 newsletter! More than 2,000 people will get a print copy, and many more will see it online.

Deadline:  March 25, 2025

Photos Requirements:

• High resolution images of Lake Ontario (at least 3 MB) 

• Photos taken during the spring/summer (please note the month and year taken) 

• Vertical orientation (if you have a horizontal image, please crop to fit 8.5”x11”)

• Any people shown in photographs consent to their photo being shared 

• Photo must be taken in Monroe or Wayne county 

• Suggested themes: scenic beauty, people enjoying the lake (fishing, swimming, boating, etc.), fish + wildlife in/above the water

• By submitting a photo, you give permission for your image to be used - with photo credit - in any future Genesee Land Trust marketing materials.

Submission Process via social media

• Tag @geneseelandtrust   

• Use #RocYourNature 

• Share where the photo was taken in your caption (Ex. Cornwall Preserve, Durand Eastman Beach, Hamlin State Beach, etc.) 

• We will follow up via DM with instructions to share your image file 

Winning the Cover Photo Contest:

• The winning photo will be chosen based on above criteria and overall photo composition. The winner – and other great images - will be shared on social media.  

• The winner will be notified by April 7th and will receive 5 print copies of the newsletter.
