Join Genesee River Alliance and the Urban Ecologists at Genesee Valley Park for the next mile! The Seneca Park Zoo Society’s Urban Ecologist Workforce Development program is designed to introduce youth to careers in environmental science and ecology while also empowering them to be ambassadors and role models for the environment and sustainability in their own neighborhoods.
We’ll take a guided walk through the park on the trail and learn about the wildlife and ecosystems that can be seen along the river even in the winter.
This is a guided family-friendly walk. All ages and abilities are encouraged to join us. Strollers and pets are also welcomed. Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk.
Please do not attend if you are not feeling well. There are two start times available at 10:00 and 11:30am. Each walk takes about 60 minutes, and there are 20 spots per tour. Pre-registration required. Please sign up below.
We’ll meet in the park at the Roundhouse Shelter, parking is available near the shelter.
Please note, in accordance with the latest CDC guidance, masks are optional for fully vaccinated attendees. Please continue to be respectful of other attendees and social distance where it’s possible to do so. We know there are varying levels of comfort with these changes and ask for your patience while we navigate this transition together.
