A bonus Trail Keepers event for you this month! Trail Keepers will visit Hipp Brook Preserve in Penfield ahead of a large planting and restoration project to remove invasive cattails. After some work done by the Town of Penfield on a sanitary sewer line, we’ll be replanting a strip of land adjacent to the trail with native shrubs later this fall. However before that begins, we need to address a small population of invasive narrowleaf and hybrid cattails so they don’t spread into restoration areas. Tall boots and layers are recommended.
All ages and ability levels are encouraged to sign-up; there will be a job for everyone. Please dress appropriately for working outdoors (sturdy footwear, long pants, sun protection). We suggest you bring a water bottle and work gloves. Tools and snacks will be provided.
To attend you must sign-up below. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well. There are 15 spots available for this event. An email reminder will be sent the week of the event with directions and parking details. Contact Will Macaluso at wmacaluso@geneseelandtrust.org with questions.
