Ice Cream Social at Braddock Bay Bird Observatory

Join us for a family-friendly adventure. Live demonstrations throughout the evening will introduce you to songbirds up close, and show how they are safely caught, banded, and released. 

This all-ages and abilities event will also include a short walk, games, and you guessed it, ice cream! A non-dairy option will also be available.

Genesee Land Trust and Braddock Bay Bird Observatory have partnered to protect the land around the banding station that is critical habitat for migrating birds. 

Pre-registration is required. - we need to know how much ice cream to order. Thank you!

Weather: If it’s raining, this event will be rescheduled. The nets don’t go up in storms.

Be prepared: Please wear shoes appropriate for trails, bring a water bottle, and dress for the weather.

Accessibility: The bird banding station is located down a dirt driveway, and is accessible for people using wheelchairs or strollers. The bird net trails are flat, but narrow and not recommended. ASL interpreter is available upon request. Please note - dogs are not allowed.

Parking: Please park along the road outside the entrance to the station. If you need to, you can come down the road for drop off/pick up.

Covid safety: In accordance with the latest CDC guidance, masks are optional for fully vaccinated attendees. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well for any reason.
