Join the Genesee River Alliance for another Mile-a-Month walk to explore the Genesee Riverway Trail. This month we head to the Plymouth-Exchange (PLEX) neighborhood, where Trish Corcoran will discuss the flora and fauna we find. Trish Corcoran is Bear Clan of the Tonawanda Seneca. She is a life-long environmentalist and educator currently teaching at the Harley School.
Please park at The Church of Love Faith Center (700 Exchange St). We’ll walk along the west side of the trail through Vacuum Oil and the PLEX neighborhood, then cross the Old Railroad Bridge to the University of Rochester. The bridge provides beautiful views of the city. We’ll head back up the east side along the trail to the Ford St Bridge and end back at the Church. The trip is approximately 2 miles round trip.
All ages and abilities are welcome. Space is limited to 25 people per time.
Walk times are at 10 AM and 11:30 AM.
Bring a reusable water bottle, dress for the weather, and wear comfortable shoes. If you bring a dog, please keep it on leash.
Accessibility: The trail is flat, paved and stroller friendly. There are no benches along this portion of the trail, but there are handicap parking spaces available at our meeting spot.
Covid safety: In accordance with the latest CDC guidance, masks are optional for fully vaccinated attendees. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well for any reason.
