Trail Keepers: Braman Preserve

  • Braman Preserve 1775 Ridge Road Webster, NY, 14580 United States (map)

This month Trail Keepers head to Webster to work at the Eva and Harlan Braman Preserve. We will be installing split rail fencing around the new parking lot, trimming the trail corridor, and doing some boardwalk maintenance. Braman Preserve provides important grassland meadows and wet meadows for birds and other wildlife. Through our meadow management we have been able to bring grassland birds like the Bobolink back to the preserve with 2022 being the first year in at least 10 years that we observed successful nesting of this charismatic grassland bird. We hope your visit will be rewarded with the sounds of it’s distinctive, robotic song.

All ages and ability levels are encouraged to sign-up; there will be a job for everyone. Please dress appropriately for working outdoors (sturdy footwear, long pants, sun protection). We suggest you bring a water bottle and work gloves. Tools and snacks will be provided.

To attend you must sign-up below. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well. An email reminder will be sent the week of the event with directions and parking details. Contact Will Macaluso at wmacaluso@geneseelandtrust.org with questions.
