Enjoy a special full moon mindfulness walk and rest around this meadow and woods in Penfield.
We’ll gather at the parking lot and slowly move to the meadow to center ourselves, then engage all of our senses to enjoy the beauty of nature at night. Most of the walk and restful sky gazing will be done in silence or deep quiet, alone or in small groups. Your guide will share gentle observation prompts and the event will end with group time to quietly share our experiences.
This is a unique opportunity to visit one of our nature preserves at night. As a rule, Genesee Land Trust properties are closed from dusk until dawn.
Children that can hold long silences are very welcome. Please leave dogs/pets - except service animals - at home.
Please bring a water bottle and a chair or blanket to sit/lay on, dress for the weather, and wear comfortable shoes. We also encourage flashlights/headlamps - ideally with a red light setting. This event is rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there’s thunder/lightning.
Accessibility: The grassy trail around the meadow is wide and mostly flat, but inside the woods the trail can be narrow and bumpy with some roots. There is no bathroom. The parking lot is gravel. Overflow parking is available across the street at Rothfuss Town Park.
