Join us for an all-ages excursion to learn about wildlife and plants that live in a very special woods close to Lake Ontario.
Winter is a great time to look for animal tracks and see what cool critters are living in Miller Woods, a private property that’s been permanently protected to ensure wildlife and plants will always have a safe home.
If we’re lucky, we might see signs of the fisher - aka “fisher cat” - a unique creature that once was hunted to the brink of extinction. But thanks to decades of conservation and local support protecting mature woodlands, they’re recently making a comeback in the region.
Mark your calendar for a special event to visit explore the trails with Jim and Martha Miller and learn about the life of a healthy woods.
Please dress for the weather, and if there’s a lot of snow consider packing snowshoes or tall boots. This event will only be cancelled in the event of extremely low temperatures, dangerous road conditions, or severe storms.
There is no bathroom on site, parking is along a rural road, and we ask that you please leave pets at home to avoid crossing wildlife tracks with their paw prints.
Parking will be off of Brick Schoolhouse Road between Glenmark Road and Catchpole Road. There will be a Genesee Land Trust event sign to help indicate you are in the right location. Please note: the address listed is only an approximate location to help with navigation.
