Description: This preserve features woodlands and the stream corridor along Ganargua Creek with floodplains, wetlands, and ponds. Across the creek from the Wayne County Norsen Park, the preserve protects a long stretch of Ganargua Creek. Trails wander along the creek and in the woods, where over thirty species of wildflowers carpet the woods each year.
Trail Description: This preserve is located at the end of Norsen Road in Arcadia. Parking is available along the side of the road. Look for a green Genesee Land Trust sign that marks the trailhead and a short (0.4 mile) loop trail leading through a wooded wetland along Ganargua Creek. After walking along the creek, the trail leads out to a large field. Following the edge of the field, the trail loops back on itself. A highlight of the trail includes spring wildflowers and hand-painted ceramic native plant markers. How many can you find?

History: The Preserve is named in honor of the Kraai family. Doug and Becky Kraai purchased the land in 1983.
Getting There
Driving Directions: Travel east on Rte. 31 into the City of Newark. At the intersection with Rte. 88 turn left (north). Follow Rte. 88 north for about a mile. Turn right onto Welcher Road. Norsen Road is approximately 2 miles north of Welcher Road intersecting at the sharp right bend in the road. Follow Norsen Road to its end.
