Genesee River Alliance, a project of Genesee Land Trust, would like you to join us for our next mile-a-month guided walk! This month we’ll take a walk with Loretta Morrell from Genesee Valley Audubon Society and learn about the wonderful birds that make their homes along the Genesee River at Turning Point Park. Yellow and Black Throated Green Warblers, Baltimore Orioles (pictured) and many other birds can be found on the riverway trail. We may even see a hawk!
We’ll explore the surrounding "Bullocks Woods" and walk along the boardwalk that extends out onto the Genesee River while spotting a variety of birds. This is a guided family-friendly walk. All ages and abilities are encouraged to join us. Strollers are also welcome. Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk.
Please bring binoculars if you have them; we will have a limited number available for loan.
There are two start times, one at 10 am and the other at 11:30 am. Each walk is approximately 60 minutes, and there are 25 spots available for each tour.
Update: the 10 am walk is now full.
Pre-registration required.
Parking is available in the parking lot at 260 Boxart St.
Contact Helen Dumas at hdumas@geneseelandtrust.org with questions.
Please continue to be respectful of other attendees and social distance where it’s possible to do so. We know there are varying levels of comfort and ask for your patience while we navigate this transition together.
