Late April is a delightful time to look for spring ephemerals – the short-lived wildflowers of Toothwort, Spring Beauty, Trillium and many more, that we’ll find in the woodsy hill at Ganargua Creek Meadow Preserve. Join experienced naturalists Carol and David Southby for a slow, in-depth spring walk and talk to learn about these special plants and their place in the larger ecosystem. There will be plenty of time to take photos and ask questions.
Parking: Please meet at the Bunker Hill Entrance of Ganargua Creek, near the water tower: 886 Bunker Hill Drive, Macedon, NY 14502. (Note, if you search for just the name of the preserve you will be directed to the wrong entrance.)
Be Prepared: Dress for the weather and potentially muddy conditions – boots are recommended and a hiking pole may be useful. Please bring a water bottle. This event is rain or shine.
Accessibility: This walk takes place on a half-mile wooded trail that zig-zags gently downhill, returning uphill along the same trail, and with occasional benches. This trail is not accessible by stroller, and we ask you please leave your dog at home. There is no bathroom on the property.
Covid safety: In accordance with the latest CDC guidance, masks are optional for fully vaccinated attendees. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well for any reason.
