Join Genesee Land Trust and Friends of Webster Trails for a Monday afternoon work party at Gosnell Big Woods in Webster. We will be planting trees and shrubs purchased from the New York State Seedling Sale. Gosnell Big Woods contains majestic old-growth forest, open field, and a small meadow. The Big Woods are owned by the Town of Webster with additional protection by Genesee Land Trust. Friends of Webster Trails maintains a variety of trails throughout the preserve and is helping to replant the forest understory throughout Webster’s greenspaces with their ReTree Webster initiative.
All ages and ability levels are encouraged to sign-up; there will be a job for everyone. Please dress appropriately for working outdoors (sturdy footwear, long pants, sun protection). We suggest you bring a water bottle and work gloves. Tools and snacks will be provided.
To attend you must sign-up below. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well. An email reminder will be sent the week of the event with directions and parking details. Contact Will Macaluso at wmacaluso@geneseelandtrust.org with questions.
About Work Parties
Work Parties are volunteer events where new and experienced volunteers work with Genesee Land Trust staff on trail and habitat improvement projects. If you’ve got some spare time and an interest in giving back to your local conservation lands we invite you to join in on the work party fun.
