Join Genesee Land Trust and partner organization Cracker Box Palace for a weekend work party at Alasa Farms. Alasa Farms is a 647-acre property protected forever with a conservation easement with Genesee Land Trust. The landowner, Cracker Box Palace, is a not-for-profit farm animal rescue that cares for a variety of animals in addition to offering hiking trails throughout the gorgeous property. We will be working on a variety of projects including cutting vegetation from trails, moving stones for water crossings, and more.
All ages and ability levels are encouraged to sign up. There will be a job for everyone. Please dress appropriately for working outdoors (sturdy footwear, long pants, sun and insect protection). We suggest you bring a water bottle and work gloves. Tools and snacks will be provided.
To attend you must sign up below. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well. An email reminder will be sent the week of the event with directions and parking details. Contact Kevin Farrell at kfarrell@geneseelandtrust.org with questions.
In accordance with the latest CDC guidance, masks are optional for fully vaccinated attendees. Please continue to be respectful of other attendees and social distance where it’s possible to do so. We know there are varying levels of comfort with these changes and ask for your patience while we navigate this transition together. We will also practice social distancing while together.
About Work Parties
Work Parties are family-friendly weekend events where volunteers work alongside Genesee Land Trust staff on trail and habitat improvement projects. If you’ve got some time on the weekends and an interest in giving back to your local conservation lands we invite you to join in on the work party fun.
