Join Genesee Land Trust for a weekend work party at Salmon Creek Nature Preserve in Parma. We will be building a shade structure in the meadow to provide an area for quiet rest and escape from the summer sun. Depending on the number of volunteers we have, we will also tackle some invasive shrub removal along the creek and trails. While you’re at the Preserve you can get a sneak peak at the ongoing construction of our new accessible observation deck. Salmon Creek Nature Preserve is a mix of habitats including grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands. Exploring trails, birding, fishing, and passive recreation are all encouraged here.
All ages and ability levels are encouraged to sign-up; there will be a job for everyone. Please dress appropriately for working outdoors (sturdy footwear, long pants, sun protection). We suggest you bring a water bottle and work gloves. Tools and instruction will be provided.
To attend you must sign-up below. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well. An email reminder will be sent the day before the event with directions and parking details. With event or accessibility questions contact Will Macaluso at wmacaluso@geneseelandtrust.org.
